AFX Technology Group International Board of Directors Appoints Burgess President and CEO

DALLAS, TEXAS--March 18, 2003 -- The members of the Board of Directors for AFX Technology Group International Inc. (AFX) are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Randy L. Burgess as President and CEO effective March 18, 2003.

In making this announcement, Dr. Richard Ashman, AFX Chairman of the Board, expressed the unanimous support of the Directors for this appointment. "Mr. Burgess is a proven international business leader," said Dr. Ashman. "He brings to the leadership of AFX a solid record of business achievement, a strong knowledge of our industry, a reputation for nurturing successful customer relationships, and the appreciation of AFX's shareholders for his continued role in developing new business opportunities for the Company."

Mr. Burgess, a founder and Managing Partner of TransID, LLC, joined AFX in 2002 in a consulting role as Vice President Business Development. The relationship has proven to be a success as AFX has postured itself for strong growth with several strategic opportunities that have been presented as a result of Mr. Burgess’ ongoing efforts.

In accepting the appointment, Mr. Burgess indicated he looked forward to working with his AFX colleagues to help lead the Company through the challenges of continued growth and value creation.

The Board also expressed its sincere appreciation to Mr. Lynn O. Surls, who has served as President, CEO, and CFO of AFX since September 2001, and who has been reelected to the Board and reappointed as CFO.

“Mr. Surls is responsible for greatly increasing AFX's momentum over the past 2 years and has made the right decisions in keeping with the Company's strategic vision. AFX is indeed fortunate to have him on its Board," stated Dr. Ashman.
